I am 26 years old, and I have been playing music going on 13 years. I have a pro attitude, as well as presence when I am on stage. I do not have problems staying on key. I have a wide vocal range, and also in style. I am available 1-2 nights a week for practice, and 2-3 nights a month for shows. As far as influences right now I am listening to alot of Killswitch Engage, Dillinger Escape Plan, Yes, Cave In, Avenged Sevenfold, STP, Soundgarden, Riddle Of Steel, etc etc. You can check out my former bands Murder In A Tuxedo, and Guard Your Ghost on Myspace if you want a small idea of what I sound like.

drummer looking for band(mates)... - 4/28/08 Drummer from Fairview Heights, Illinois looking to join or start a good band. I dig most styles of music, everything from rock to blues to metal to country to disco to r&b. Only kind of music that I dont really like is southern rock (ala lynard skynard) or blues rock (ala stevie ray vaughn)...just dont care for that stuff. I have a dedicated rehearsal space here at my home and I own enough PA gear to play any size show needed. No drug or chemical dependencies here, but I do smoke ciggys. No DRAMA mongers or DUMB check recipients from the state government reply please...oooooo and I am 47 years of age, keep that in mind. Alt/Indie Bassist Seeking Eclectic Band - 4/14/08 HELP? Friendly, outgoing single/non-smoking/non-drugging (sure I'll drink after a gig/jam) BASSIST-for-LIFE guy w/10 yrs' experience playing mainly the East Coast (VA & up) ORIGINAL Alt/Indie circuit is getting very frustrated in his new hometown of STL! That won't work, 'cause I love this place, & I've lived all over, darn it. Maybe you can be of assistance. There are lots of bands across the USA that are into metal, covers, Worship, and other genres and God Bless Them forreal. I'm happy that they're doing what they like. I, too, want to play what I like to play: Basic, no? And yet the enthusiastic notes I get are from exactly the types of bands that aren't for me.... Sadly, so far the folks who dub themselves as alternative/independent-label-oriented type musicians/bands around here write me nice notes, & then lose confidence & rag on their abilities in the next notes (I kid you not!) & disappear mostly without us even having a chance to chat by phone, let alone jam. Look: I'm as down-to-earth as anyone can be; I don't cop the "rockstar" attitude! Those who do obviously have significant problems, even if they are "rockstars." Me? I play bass & I'm a human being like everyone else. Life has cut me and my ego down to their intended sizes. End of story. No problems here: If I gel w/a band, that's awesome. If not, that's life; it's okay. Those insecure people I mentioned above must have self-esteems lower than Death Valley. Why, I don't have the faintest clue, but what can I do? I love the flexibility Alt gives me to funk out, rock out, punk out, & whatever else. The "Alt" I know doesn't believe in restricting its stylistic influences and that's why I'm sticking w/it. I'm in this for the music, not the money. I have a day-job. Music will never be a "job" for me: I'd just sell my basses if it came to that. We can talk about us, our "influences," and even about our gear present & future, although if you're into boasting 'bout your "Pro Gear & 'tude" I suggest that you seek help elsewhere, please. That's a RED LIGHT right there! I'm not even mentioning famous bands I dig & that's on purpose: If we're on the same wavelength none of that matters. To me, Alt is all about open-mindedness to integrating different styles regardless of trends-of-the-year and BS like that. Thanks. Please write if you believe in yourself without being arrogant or air-headed. I don't suffer fools gladly, 'cause I've been reading from way too many already. Be assured that those are some major fools I'm talking about. In the end, all the talk is just a prelude to jamming ("auditioning" is a dirty word to me--pretentious) and figuring out if we might have a spark happening between us.
