We are a Acoustic plugged in 4 man band. 2 guitars, A Violin/Viola/Fiddle/Lead Singer, Bass player. All 4 with vocals, And all capable of Lead vocal. We do everything from, Man of constant sorrow{Foggy Mountain Boys} to Zepplin {Going to California}Bad Company,Creedance,Mammas Pride, Trower,Little River, Humble Pie, Blah, We need a versiile Person, Small Kit, Congas, Tamb,Eggs,Block,Bells whisles, Farts if they sound good. We are all 40ish with many years of experience, Mellow, We Arent dead but still have fun. We all have other good jobs, No bad habbits, Great Equiptment, We practice once a weak, I the Ballwin area. We have already got most of our shit together. But there is a hole in our timing that can only be satisfied with a Beat man in whatever form it may take. Vocals are a help, But not necc, High vocals? Want to start Classic Country Band - 5/8/08
I'm looking to start a classic country band (Merle Haggard,Cash,Hank,etc), a little new country, Southern Rock, and even a little southern Gospel. I plan on doing the vocals; I play some rhythm guitar, but nothing fancy. The band will need a lead guitarist,back up vocals, another rhythm guitarist, bass player, & drummer. It would be a BIG plus to have a steel guitar player, and fiddle player. Banjo and keyboardist would work too. I'm in my late 40s, and have not been in a band before. I have worked in radio for over 23 years. I'm primarily looking to start the band for fun, but with the goal of making it a working band eventually. Let's get together and have some fun. Bassist w/ backing/lead vocals needed - 5/8/08
What we have here would, on the surface, be considered a "start up" band, however, we are all very seasoned musicians. We are attempting to take our project in a different direction. In that we are all very tired of playing the "Jessie's Girl", "Lit", "Cumbersome", etc. We are wanting to take covers and make them our own. Similar to what Godsmack did with "Good Times Bad Times", but not everything heavy. Our other focus will be on writing original material. We are all in our mid to upper 30s. We all have day jobs and are not looking to "make it". This an extremely laid back group of guys. We have a rhythm/acoustic guitar player, an exceptional lead player, a very solid drummer, and a lead singer that also plays keys and is himself a very good song writer. What we are looking for is a bassist that has very good backing and or lead vocals. We do not need the worlds best bassist, our main focus is to stay in the pocket and as or more important be able to sing and contribute to the creative cohesiveness of this project. In other words, contribute to taking a song and making it "our own" along with a contribution to the originals. We are very big on the ability of harmonies. Seeking lead guitarist with vocal ability in Metro East - 5/8/08 Collinsville, Troy, O'Fallon IL area. Our band is seeking an experienced lead guitarist with vocal ability. We try to meet once a week for about 3 hours (6:30 - 9:30) to practice. We play at the bassist's house located outside of Collinsville, near O'Fallon. We play music mainly from the 70's thru 90's. Influenced by Kansas, Styx, Supertramp, Eagles, LRB, Police, Badfinger, Beatles, Clapton, Frampton, Queen, John mellencamp, Roy Orbison, and a lot of one-hit wonders (i.e. Tommy TuTone, Ian Gomm, Men at Work, etc.). We currently have a bassist, drummer, one guitar player, and myself. We've got some great PA equipment, or bring your own. I'm too busy playing keyboards, sax, and some acoustic guitar (let alone lead vocals). I need some help with vocals, and someone to fill those lead guitar riffs. We're non public performing (so far), but have played at private parties, bonfires, etc. We're just now learning Beatles, Eagles, and some Frampton. Would LOVE to play more of the above mentioned bands. We've been on and off now for 2+ years. We're in our late 40's, and early 50's (if that matters). Acoustic Guitarist with Harmony Vocal -- Wanted - 5/6/08 We're an acoustic rock band playing stuff like The Eagles, CSN, LRB, Roger Clyne, TtWS..., as well as some originals. We're looking to add a second guitarist. Some lead guitar ability is welcome, but we're primarily looking to bolster our arrangements with a solid rhythm guitarist with harmony vocals in a tenor range. We're not looking for electric guitar or lead vocals. Must have an acoustic guitar with built-in active pick-up and a quality combo amp. Must have a good instinct for vocal harmonies. Must be a fairly quick study (we've got about 60 songs) Must be easy to get along with: no nutcases or big egos. Twisted sense of humor a plus. We try to gig every other weekend. We rehearse every weekend, almost always Saturday afternoon; you must be available for 90% of them. Though we don't gig full time, we are looking for someone dedicated and for whom the band is an important and favorite thing to do, not constantly sidetracked by football games and family trips. The band doesn't have to be THE priority, but it must be A priority.

Talented, seasoned lead guitarist needed - 4/28/08 Our friend and excellent lead guitarist is having to leave our band due to increased job and family obligations, and we are having to replace him. The person we are looking for will be at ease playing both electric and acoustic guitars, and will be equally comfortable playing a featured lead or signature lick, or tasty background fills. Vocal ability a big plus. Our music is loosely defined as "trop rock" - tropical, warm weather, sandy beaches, cold drinks type music mixed with some classic rock and a country favorite here and there. We have a built in loyal audience and should be able to stay as busy as we care to be this summer. The majority of our gigs will be outdoors, in the spring and summer, within a 200 mile radius of the St Louis metro area. With one exception, we are all in the 50 year old range. We rehearse weekly in St Charles, near Cave Springs/I 70. There is no front man, no individual egos in the band - only ego AS a band, and that's the way we intend to keep things. We have a ton of fun together, have a great relationship with our fan base, and manage to make a few bucks along the way. Who wants to play Steely Dan in my basement? - 4/28/08
My jam just disbanded, so I thought I would take a shot at doing what I really want to do. I am a huge fan, and would love to meet up with some like minded guys (and gals) who would like to play Steely Dan tunes. I could play either bass or second guitar. So at this point no spot is filled. We could probably get started with out horns, but everything else is needed. I am a 35 year old white guy, but for this project age, race and gender don't matter. I know that this is going to be extremely difficult and time consuming to put together, but I am willing to do it. I will just start a file of interested people and when I have enough to jam, I will let everyone know. I shouldn't need to say this, but past experience tells me I should. If you aren't sure whether or not you can play this material, you can't. You don't have to be a profesional musician (in fact I prefer you not be) but if you can't play you will just be ruining the good time of the others.

WORKING BAND SEEKS PRO GUITARIST - 4/28/08 This popular local band works 6-12 gigs per month. Working Conditions: We all are expected to help with load-in and load-out - pa setup, etc. The typical call for a gig is 1.5 - 2 hours prior to start time. We play 3 and 4 hour gigs for the most part. We wear tuxedos for over half of our gigs. We have an amp-free stage - we run an AVIOM in-ear system and every player has control over their own personal mix. The guitarist would be expected to use a modeler of some type. The right player will be able to read charts comfortably as well as play "by ear". Vocals are naturally a plus, but not a requirement. Band members are adults with extensive professional experience - we are seeking the same in the person who fills the guitar slot. Average age of band members is 50. We aren't looking for a "wonder child" - but a serious grownup who can really play and isn't afraid to work. A self-starter who will prepare on his/her own - we don't rehearse for the most part. Looking for multi-instrumentalist - 4/21/08
Unique musical project looking for a Bass Player that also plays drums and guitar. You should have your own bass equipment, although all you need for rehearsal would be your bass guitar. We practice in Granite City w/ a great practice set-up. Being an accomplished musician is more important to us than having a lot of playing out experience. We are in our 40's, but you don't have to be if you are mature and easy to get along with. We are laid back but serious. Also, we really want someone who can sing lead and harmony. We don't want someone who drinks to the point where it effects their playing or does hard drugs. Basically, you would play base on 60-100% on covers w/ the balance of covers on the guitar. Want to create "a Perfect Circle" style cd? - 4/17/08 I'm looking to put together a group of musicians, not to sell tickets and play shows, but to create, produce, and record a highly marketable cd that appeals to musicians and non-musicians alike. I want to achieve this by gathering up any interested parties and see who fits. I foresee a couple of guitar players versed in acoustic and electric, drummer/percussionist, bassist maybe even upright bass??, maybe some female vox, keys and strings (can be covered by keys). The main thing these songs need to have is "smooth". Any interested parties need to understand and have the ability to play in different keys, different tempos, and different time signatures. The ability to record at home would be a HUGE plus in the progress category. I think what I mean here, is {musicians not hobbyists} I have the vocals to carry this kind of project and im looking for people as described above. I have a professional protools vocal recording rig at home and I've been singing for a long time. Just don't waste my time if you not really interested in writing and giving this some serious effort.

New country band looking for male vocals, acoustic guitar, keys, or fiddle - 4/14/08 New country band with female lead vocals looking to add some male vocals for both leads and harmonies.
